2012 ARMED FORCES SPORTS CALENDAR
D1 Members: If you know any specific sport athletes, they may be interested in the below message.
Also, who has teams planning to participate in the Commandant’s Ice Hockey and Floor Hockey tournaments? I am trying to get an estimate on requests for sport’s grants for them. They can find the application for team sport’s grants here.

Youth Basketball:
A program designed for beginner basketball players. This fun program focuses on skill instruction and development rather than the actual playing of games. While the focus is on skill development, there is special emphasis is on fitness and fun. Competitive drills are designed to make learning the skills enjoyable and competitive. The result? Children have a great skill development which in turn allows them to become better basketball payers. Join us for the fun! Program begins in early November following the soccer program however, due to the installation of a new gym floor, this year the program will begin in late December or early January. Watch for registration forms.

Halloween Hoops:
A command oriented basketball tournament held the last week of October. The single elimination tournament is limited to 10 teams on a first come-first serve basis. The tournament is currently delayed as the gym floor is repaired. Watch for seasonal programs during the winter.

Indoor Soccer:
Join your shipmates as you have a fun and enjoyable workout on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 to 12:30. No experience is necessary, just come out and have some fun!
Pickup Basketball:
Intersted in some hoop time? For some pickup basketball fun and fitness, players get together on Mondays and Wednesdays starting at 3:30 and play continues into the evening. Whether you come for just one game or for the entire evening, stop by and have some fun!
