Once again our Youth Holiday Party was a great success thanks to all the American Legion volunteers, the school's support and the US Family Health Plan. Of course, Sector MWR and the Galley made it all possible and everyone thanks the staff of both for another successful party.

Sector recently hosted Oktoberfest 2012 and Run for the Heroes. A great time was had by all, even in the rain!

Sector NY recently hosted the Royal Marines Basketball Team as they complete their visit to the United States. Larry arranged for a game with the Coast Guard Team (Brits won). Pictured as they were leaving Sector with their game ball signed by the CG Players and presenting Larry with their command plaque.

As part of the Galley Theme Days round 3, the Sector interns hosted Game Day. To change up lunch, you could bowl, play 21 - Beat The Dealer, and a wide range of games for all to enjoy. And a great lunch as well!

In Jan. of this year, Members of the Cespino-Russo Post of the American Legion, invited members of the United States Coast Guard on a ski outting to Windham Mountian ski resort. Mr. Troy Ketchem, manager, issued free lift tickets to the Coast Guard members and John M. DarConte of the Post, made arrangements for the ski lessions. The Coast Guard members received Windham hats and shirts. The American Legion Post made sure all personnel had lunch and dinner since this was a full day event. On Feb. 8th, of this year, members of Cespino-Russo Post again invited members of the Coast Guard on a ski outting to Mount Peter. Again, Renee, the manger gave free lift tickets to thr Coast Guard Personnel and John M. DarConte of the Post, made arrangements for ski instruction. Mount Peter is a great Maintian for beginners and intermediate skiiers. In attendance from the Coast Guard were Tara Ashmore, Tate Ashmore, Stacy Holt and Lester Taitt. Helping were Lenore Gerbasio, Thorsten and Matt Unick, ski instructor's. This event was a twi-light ski running from 1500 hours to 2100 hours; Picture is attached. MWR at Fort Wadsworth sugguested that I send you this information. They thought it would be news worthy and increase they're interest in the varies events that your personnel can be involved in. Larry presents Dillon with a Sector NY plaque. Dillon is being recognized for his support and efforts for the Youth Soccer Program that was held in the fall. All the children and staff of MWR says “Thanks” for a job well done.
